To: Area Deans of SEAGST
All D. theol students of SEAGST
Feb. 18, 2008
Dear sisters and brothers:
As you may already informed that both the SEAGST
senate and the ATESEA Executive committee have approved the new
revised curricula for M. theol. and D. theol programs of SEAGST.
You will find them from the website of SEAGST or the new handbook
of ATESEA/SEAGST published in Nov. last year (2007). One of the
major changes of the curriculum is to strengthen this academic
community in terms of its theological orientation, methodologies
and sense of belonging through a newly designed annual Regional
Methodological Orientation Seminar. This according to the rule
resolved by the seagst senate that all the first year students
of the D. theol. program of seagst admitted after 2007 academic
year are required to take this program as one o the require courses.
Other D. theol students are optional if there is still space left.
The first Regional Methodological Orientation Seminar has now
scheduled to take place from June 9 to July 4, 2008 in Chang
Jung Christian
University, Tainan, Taiwan,
according to the program attached. The seminar will consist with
lectures, group workshops, individual researches and writings/presentations.
The participants will also have a chance to meet with the newly
established seagst regional faculty members who will meet in the
same venue from June 30 to July 4, 2008.
Considering the available resources the seagst has, we have
to limit the numbers of the participants to 15 for this first
Regional Methodological Orientation Seminar. And I have already
received from Dr. Ezra Kok, the area Dean of Malaysia-Singapore-Thailand-Srilanka
area four names from the area, the rest of the areas are encouraged
to send me the names of the participants from your area no later
than the end of March. (The individual students are encouraged
to contact your area dean for the applications). We should do
the final selection (if there are more than 15 applications) and
issue letters of invitation for the visa purpose after the selection
is done.
SEAGST will cover all the local accommodation expenditures and
the international tickets. I am looking forward to seeing you
in Tainan.
Wishing you the Lord’s richest blessings.
Yours truly,
Huang po ho
Associate Dean, SEAGST
